The 2014 Lunar New Year Gala

The Year of the Horse 2014 is fast approaching. Granted — now that it’s Dec. 17 — Christmas and New Year’s Day are even closer, but in about a month’s time, we will see the arrival of the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year. While the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky might have other smaller, more intimate Lunar New Year celebrations , our event should prove to be the biggest Lunar New Year bash around.

Thanks to theĀ Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and many other fine companies in the area, this year’s event will prove to the best we’ve ever held. Normally, we see about 200 people attend our Lunar New Year galas. This year we’re hoping for much more. You can register now and get a discounted ticket price, as a matter of fact. Click here for more information.

At the same time, we are also seeking sponsorship for the event, which is a great way to raise visibility of one’s organization to the Asian community in the area and to give to an organization that works to promote economic development through trade. We really love to hear stories of companies who have worked with us, gotten connected to a China counterpart, grew their organization and created jobs. It’s our direction and our vision.

Beyond sponsorship, you can also donate items for our silent auction that will take place in the early part of the gala event. The gala starts at 5:30 p.m. to allow time for the auction. In years past, we’ve seen free meals to some of the best restaurants in town — Chinese or otherwise — free hotel stays, airline tickets, jewelry and more.

Also, we’ve heard a great amount of people tell us they want to get involved with the chamber and its gala event. We’ve seen a tremendous amount of passion from all kinds of people in the community that want to volunteer their skills and their time. Being a rather small organization still in the “start up” phase, we welcome any help we can get.

So, if you’d like to help out, donate items for the auction, or push your organization to become a sponsor for the event, please reach out to our executive director Evan Brooks. His email address is ed@china-midwest.com and his office phone is (513) 852-4100.

We hope to see you at the event. It’ll be one you won’t want to miss.
