2015 Lunar New Year Gala

Come for the lion dance and live music, stay for the great food and good people.

Our annual Lunar New Year Gala will take place Friday, Feb. 6, from 5:30 to 8 pm at the Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati. The event is our opportunity to celebrate the most important holiday in Asian culture together. We want to bring the business community of Cincinnati (and beyond) together to mix, mingle and enjoy a fine evening of Chinese cultural celebration.

Our program includes a lion dance to start the proceedings, followed by plenty of time for networking and enjoying Asian-inspired cuisine by the Horseshoe’s highly trained chefs. We are lining up live performances by students from the UC’s College Conservatory of Music, as well as live solo performances by world class Chinese performers. The City of Cincinnati will present a proclamation in honor of harboring better China-Cincinnati relations. It is going to be a big event.

We want to garner improved relations between China and Cincinnati and we want to invite you to help us do it.

General Seating & Tickets Purchase

  • Guests also can purchase a full table of 10 seats at $1,500.
  • Half page advertisements can be purchased separately at $250.
  • All Active Members can purchase tickets individually before Jan. 15 at $100; after at $150

The Chinese Chamber holds this event each year to celebrate the community and raise funds for its operations throughout the rest of the year. Sponsorship is a great way to spread good will to a community that is growing quite quickly, especially with the massive influx of Chinese students attending local universities. We look to serve this new community and that of the export realm in the region too. We do this by collaborating with other movements to encourage immigration and diversity awareness. For example, our representatives play key roles in Mayor John Cranley’s Task Force on Immigration, Diverse by Design, UC’s China Initiative, and more.

Register Now

The year is nearing its end and the holidays are among us. Let’s celebrate one more time in 2014 at Taste of Belgium in Clifton.

This month’s Beer and Guanxi will be next Wednesday evening. We’ll spend our time talking, drinking and eating good food. It’s a great opportunity for learning about the cultures of the U.S. and China.

Join us, bring your friends, and be a part of our community.

Chinese Investment in the US coupled with Building Guanxi

This month we’ve held two events. They happened to be on the same night. We saw a great turnout at both events.

First, we had a great discussion with our panel on Chinese investment. Thanks to one of our newest members, Miller Canfield, for collaborating on the project. Three panel members from Miller Canfield have worked rather closely with Fuyao Auto as they have worked to begin operations at a new plant in Moraine, Ohio. We had some great food and the Phoenix club turned out to be a great venue.

The after party took place at Rhinegeist, where we munched on Eli’s BBQ and held a drawing. Some lucky folks went home with brand new slippers for the coming winter. Join at our next Beer and Guanxi in December. We’ll be doing a charity drive. Details to come.

Fuyao Auto Glass Update: Panel Discussion Nov. 12

Miller Canfield and the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce will hold a discussion panel on Chinese investment in Middle America. You can register at this link or by clicking the button above.

The event is free for members.Networking and discussion will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Nov. 12. It will feature networking, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails in the historic Chef’s Room of the Phoenix club in downtown Cincinnati.

The panelists —  Yanping Wang, Shusheng Wang, and Matthew Steele — have intimate knowledge of Fuyao Auto Glass as they have worked to implement their expected $200 million investment in Ohio, the largest by a Chinese company ever in the buckeye state. Join us to learn about how this massive deal is progressing and what we can expect for the future of Chinese business in the region.
