Intercultural Workshop Series Preview _3_ The Warring States

We celebrate the Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month by offering a complementary preview of our cultural awareness workshops every last Tuesday morning at 9AM ET. Our topic this month is a reflection on the Warring States Period of China which was an era in ancient Chinese history characterized by warfare, as well as bureaucratic and military reforms and consolidation. It followed the Spring and Autumn period and concluded with the Qin wars of conquest that saw the annexation of all other contender states, which ultimately led to the Qin state’s victory in 221 BC as the first unified Chinese empire, known as the Qin dynasty.

It was also an era of great cultural and intellectual expansion in China that fostered the flourishing of the “Hundred Schools of Thought”, when a broad range of thoughts and ideas were developed and debated freely.

Join us in an exploratory discussion of this important period in China’s history and take a look at some of the greatest philosophers whose thoughts influenced generations and generations of people in East Asian countries and all over the world.

To promote economic & investment exchanges and cooperation between Jiangsu Province and the State of Ohio, the Jiangsu Department of Commerce and JobsOhio, together with the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade will jointly organize a two-way investment dialogue between Jiangsu and Ohio. Asia Trade Mission 2020 by M3C aims to propel US companies to succeed in the Phase I US-China Trade Deal in which China agreed to expand purchases of certain US goods and services by a combined $200 billion over 2020 and 2021 from 2017 levels. Join us to promote the US exports and witness as the deal gets implemented.
