Connect with Pittsburgh corporate, academic, legal, technical and business professionals for a Special Focus Event on China hosted by the Pittsburgh chapter of LES (the Licensing Executives Society) from noon to 2 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at Eddie Merlot’s Restaurant downtown.

The Pittsburgh LES chapter provides a forum for networking and exchange of information on all aspects of business dealmaking, such as licensing, intellectual property, valuation, diligence and negotiation to benefit the Pittsburgh business community.

This Special Event starts at noon with networking and lunch, followed at 12:30 pm by two panel discussions led by John Carney, Managing Director of China IPExchange, formerly Director of Licensing for Aptiv PLC/Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC.

The first 45 minute panel discussion will focus on “Western Perspective to Deal Making in China – Stories and Lessons”.

The second 45 minute panel discussion will focus on: “Chinese Business Culture and Getting Deals Done”.

His company, K2 Industrial Controls International supports manufacturing jobs in the USA by exporting Made in USA industrial valves, pumps and fitting products, primarily into China.

Marvin H. Cunningham III. Since 2004, Mr. Cunningham has served as a member of the Long-Stanton Manufacturing Executive Team. Through various positions at Long-Stanton Asia, Mr. Cunningham has developed extensive knowledge and experience in all facets of Chinese business management and operation within the manufacturing industry.

Steve Albert. Steve Albert is East West Path’s Managing Director. In 2016, he found the company to provide Chinese clients an alternative to the EB-5 investor visa. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Chanhee Han. Chanhee is an international trade attorney at Frost Brown Todd LLC. As a core member of the firm’s International Services Group, Chanhee has extensive experience helping companies with mitigating the impact of recently imposed tariff increases through tariff classification, tariff engineering, first sale, and other methods.

Join representatives from Hamilton County for active group discussions of business regulations and compliance issues as well as value-added business resources and opportunities.

County Officials will discuss topics relating to mandatory business permits and compliance, business development opportunities, and available resources for small businesses. Learn about economic development opportunities through HCDC, Inc.- Hamilton County’s Economic Development Office.

Presenters include county officials concerned with economic development and small business compliance issues in public health (for example restaurant sanitation inspections etc.), public safety (i.e. police officers dealing with human trafficking), occupational health, first-responders (fire dept. emergency, etc.), visitors and tourism, etc. On site interpretation will be provided to ensure full understanding of the content being presented.

Consul General Mr. Huang Ping Visit to Cincinnati

Consulate General of the
People’s Republic of China in New York

His Excellency, Mr. Ping HUANG was born in January 1963. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Arts and Public Administration degree. His previous assignments include Counselor, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Canada, Deputy Mayor, Shaoxing City in Zhejiang province, Deputy Director General, the Department of Consular Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Consul General, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Chicago, Director General, Department of Consular Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Zimbabwe.

He was appointed as the new Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in New York in November of 2018.
